'Accidental' shooting grazes two-year-old on Westside

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police are investigating a shooting which took place in Clearview Homes in the 400 block of Carolan Street Thursday evening.

Just after 7 p.m. a shot was fired inside the home. "The bullet grazed a 2-year-old boy who lives in the home. His injuries are not life-threatening. At this time the shooting appears to be accidental," police say.

Several family members were inside the home when the shooting occurred. "Those individuals are being interviewed by detectives," police say. "The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation."

The event happened concurrently with an anti-violence rally held nearby.
