Tuesday, just before midnight, Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police arrested Joshua Lovett without incident outside of a business on the 1900 block of East Victory Drive.
He was wanted for "shooting his mother and beating her fiancé during an altercation Tuesday afternoon," police say.
At 12:09 p.m. Metro responded to the residence of Paula Lovett, 49, and her fiancé Thomas Mincey, 54 on the 3300 block Argyle Street.
"Paula Lovett was found inside suffering from a gunshot wound. Mincey was beaten with a baseball bat. Paula Lovett was transported to Memorial University Medical Center in critical condition. Mincey was transported to MUMC in serious but stable condition," police say.
