Posted By on Sun, Jan 3, 2016 at 12:05 PM

Detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department have initiated an investigation into the suspicious death of Dewane Rice, 19, whose body was found inside of an abandoned house on 700 block of East Bolton Street Friday evening.

"Rice is homeless, and was last seen on Dec. 24. Friday, at about 5:06 p.m., Metro officers found Rice during a welfare check at the Bolton Street residence," police say. "The Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab will conduct an autopsy Monday to determine the cause of death."
