Body found in abandoned house on 37th; death deemed suspicious

Detectives of Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation into the suspicious death of Jerry Lawson, 59, whose body was found Friday, March 18 at an abandoned house on the 2000 block of East 37th Street just after 3 p.m.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigations Crime Lab will perform an autopsy Monday, March 22. Metro’s Criminal Investigations and Patrol divisions responded to the scene with K-9 and Forensics units.
