This is a wonderful article, and as a fellow parishioner this brings warmth to my heart..since I grew up in this church, not as a child but as a person, this place is more than a church to me. It is a family. We take religion and tradition to our roots, and welcome everyone. Being a Russian is not only being by blood, but embracing a beautiful culture that is rare, especially in East Georgia. We incorporate all languages we can, to make all those who come feel love and beauty through an Orthodox Christian service that anyone could relate to in their own way.
I don't typically comment on much, but I feel I had to speak on this. It's rare that anyone knows what I say when i mention I'm Russian Orthodox Christian...most of the time I need to put the emphasis on "christian", this way I look to some as half normal. What I mean by this, I believe the same as most. But, I always feel the need to constantly say we are Christian, but stick to tradition. Yes, we walk around with candles at 12 in the night, and we celebrate feasts on different days then others, but we all believe in one thing for certain, one true God.
I guess in all my rant, I would like to say that people like Denise, are one in a million. They recognize a way of life that brings them happiness no matter what. Everyone at this church has given everything they got to make it what it is today, and I can not look forward enough until the day I return for another service. It is and will always grow, when you have individuals like Denise that commit to making a church a home for prayer and worship.
So her deceased ghost dog can spell? Yep, this story checks out.
You are such a great inspiration, God Bless!
Thank you for a great article.
But do they actually crawl? Why are there no pictures of past crawls?
Actually, everything is not poetry. I found that out the hard way.

I see only one republican with a chance to take the White House, Gary Johnson. But as the Libertarian candidate doubtfull the party would embrace him, even though he was a republican govenor. More likely they'd line up behind Arizonas lousy govenor Jan Brewer.
I am glad that Wormhole is hosting comedy because there are not many places in Savannah hosting stand up. I have been to several Comedy Planet shows and this one was especially good. There was a huge crowd and I'm glad to see so many other people that are into comedy and coming out to the shows. With that many comedy fans living here, maybe there is a full time comedy club in Savannah's future!
The Savannah Zombie Walk team will be there with their Zombie Pirate Float. Bring your canned food donations to support America's Second Harvest Food Bank. Donation bins will be out at the Festival in Little Matey's Cove. https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112811348818408
The Humane Society for Greater Savannah will be at the River Street Labor Day Celebration Micro-chipping, selling their t-shirts, AND introducing a few adoptable pets to the public! Micro-chips are only $20 and tees are only $15. All the proceeds support the operations of the Humane Society for Greater Savannah!
Immediately after the terrorist attack on American soil, master-minded by Osama Bin Laden, the White House ordered a bipartisan national commission to investigate the disaster to make certain it never happens again. A similar thing happened after the BP oil spill and the Challenger explosion.
But after almost six years, there is still no comparable investigation, ordered by Congress or the White House, of the levee protection failures that drowned metro New Orleans and killed over 1,500 people.
Fifty-five percent of the American population lives in counties protected by levees. Clearly, there should be a truly independent analysis of the flood protection failures - and the decision making involved – that led to the devastation in metro New Orleans during Hurricane Katrina on August 29, 2005.

It’s good to see movie like this and The King’s Speech still being made. Robert Redford is also going digital and hosting a blog on the movie site: http://www.conspiratorthemovie.com.
Costs are a little off, but its ok, we've actually reduced them, so it's in your favor. Tickets purchased online or at Mr. Koolz Gelato on Liberty and Drayton. Look for the purple awning.
Thanks Bill for the awesome article.
That Vincent Price movie, based on Richard Matheson's book "Omega Man", was also made into a movie in the early 70's starring Charlton Heston.
Of course you're right! One of my favorite books is "Manhunt: The 12-Day Search for Lincoln's Killer," and it really explains how Stanton took charge in the days after the assassination. Seward was, of course, fighting for his life after Lewis Payne's attack. I stand corrected, and thanks for pointing that out.
