Southern Culture on the Skids at Savannah Stopover

Well, Savannah, apparently we really love having greasy fried chicken flung at us. But who wouldn’t? It was a little rainy, but that didn’t stop the crowds from hitting the Morris Center for food trucks, Lagunitas beer, Deep Eddy vodka, and one hell of a lineup.

The Wave Slaves set the surf tone for the show, impressing out-of-town attendees and writers with our local talent right off the bat. The all-American (down to the Skynyrd shirts and flag-motif Gibson SGs) rock ‘n’ roll of Turbo Fruits got the crowd primed for the headliner. Southern Culture on Skids launched Stopover V in unforgettable glee, playing hits and deep cuts plucked from all across their expansive catalog. If you were one of the “skidders” groovin’ onstage for the last song (or if you’ve been regretting not jumping up there), there’s another chance to dance: SCOTS are headlining this year’s Revival Fest!

Runner-up: A-Town Get Down
