The Best of Savannah

Best Principal/Headmaster; Best Private School

Mary Anne Hogan, St. Vincent's Academy

A staple of modern life is the Prom Controversy, whereby some students run afoul of some school rule and can’t go to Prom. Under the leadership of headmaster Hogan, St. Vincent’s joined that club this year with a high-profile hubbub regarding a longstanding rule at the school that students cannot be late for Prom for any reason, or they won’t be allowed to enter. Unlike the case with other schools, however, St. Vincent’s alumni and parents were pretty strong in supporting the rule, saying expecting students to adhere to higher standards is what makes the school what it is.

Runner-up, School: Leslie Taylor
