Drivin N Cryin/Jordan Igoe @Coach's Corner

Before you start saying “Hey, does that Drivin N Cryin band play there every month?” hear this: The great Atlanta rock ‘n’ roll gang fronted by Kevn Kinney never even got onstage at their last show in Coach’s outdoor music garden. The July 3 gig was completely rained out. This is the rain date, folks.

This show is made even more attendable (as if you needed something else) by the inclusion of Jordan Igoe, from the Charleston, S.C. suburb of Mount Pleasant, as the opening act. She is an alt-country singer/songwriter whose soulful, sweet-but-heavy voice is reminiscent of, say, Lucinda Williams (a writer for something called Charleston Grit compared her to Iris DeMent, but I don’t think so). She’s a guitarist and piano player, and she’ll have a full electric band here, too . Check out Igoe’s debut full-length, How to Love, on her bandcamp page. - Bill DeYoung. At 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 8. Tickets $20 advance, $25 at the door

  • Drivin N Cryin hasn't become a 'local' band; this is a makeup date from a rained out show in July.
