February 18: Today's events 

Here's what's going on today (Saturday, Feb. 18): Author alert! The Savannah Book Festival takes over Telfair Square from 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. today. The No Control Festival starts at noon in the courtyard of Southern Pine Co., and lasts until Sunday's wee hours. Among the performers: Cusses, The Shaniqua Brown, Today the Moon Tomorrow the Sun, KidSyc&Brandywine, Whaleboat, General Oglethorpe and Niche. The hour-by-hour schedule is on our website. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine actor Avery Brooks performs Ira Aldridge: The Black Roscius at 7 p.m. in the Armstrong Atlantic State University Auditorium.
