May 11: Today's events

Here's what's going on today (Friday, May 11): First of all it's Friday, so there's that. It's rockin' tonight in the clubs: Country's Josh Thompson is at Desperados, the R&B show band Sister Sparrow & the Dirty Birds has a Live Wire date, Whaleboat and Cloudeater share the bill at No Control, the great Burning Mansions plays Blowin' Smoke, Eric Culberson and the boys are at Congress Street Social, and Stereomonster's at the Rock House on Tybee Island. And there's theater in the air: Sartre's No Exit is onstage at Muse Arts Warehouse at 8 p.m. The Practice Child, an original comedy by SCAD theater student Tyler Stuart is free at 8 p.m. at the school's Mondanaro Theater, on MLK. And hey, Rent opens on Saturday.
