Charlotte’s Strip City Sinners open, with a throat-shredding set of Little Ceasar and Faster Pussycat-esque skag metal that’s as trite as their tattooed, bird-flipping press photos, but no less (guilty) pleasureable. This touring guitarist and singing songwriter describes his music as “traditional acoustic blues/bluegrass/alternative/country/pop with regular original words, and sometimes long words too, put to a melody, and sung with a drawl.” Impressive but reclusive local indie-rock tunesmith Dave Williams opens with a rare set of newish material. Thurs., 8 pm, The Sentient Bean.
