Kylesa is known for a savage and brutal form of hardcore punk that is at times frightening in its bombast and volume. Longtime house act at this well-known Tybee Island bar, who plays danceable pop music mixed with elements of light jazz, reggae and calypso. This unusual trio (featuring electric bass, electric guitarist/percussionist and a standout harmonicat) specializes in simple, unvarnished R & B, a la Sonny Boy Williamson or Little Walter. They occasionally throw in a few original tunes or dabble in rock and roll through their own arrangements of numbers by The Rolling Stones and others.
