Oct. 4: Today's events

Here's what's going on today (Thursday, Oct. 4): Walter Parks and Swamp Cabbage play Rivers Rock, the annual Moon River Brewing Co. benefit for the Ogeechee Riverkeeper. Catch one of the last-ever performances by General Oglethorpe & the Panhandlers, with Shark! And Dinosaur Feathers, at the Jinx (it's the "Ancient Predators Ball"). And the always-great Royal Noise plays, with Boston's fab psych-pop Ultraviolet Hippopotamus, at Live Wire Music Hall.
