Savannah Perceptions: A Real & Uncensored Dialogue on Race, Culture, History, and Crime

When: Thu., Aug. 18, 6-7:30 p.m. 2016
Price: Free
Savannah is known for its history and southern charm, but what is behind that façade? What about the residents who deal with the effects of poverty, racism, poor leadership, and substandard education? We are bringing together 3 Black men from the streets of Savannah with 3 White residents of various neighborhoods for a raw and uncut discussion on the deeper issues. This forum is not just about crime, which is a surface issue (although it will be discussed); it is about the deeply rooted institutions, perceptions, stereotypes and prejudices, and obstacles facing Savannah’s residents.
