The Blotter

• Two mall officers were making their rounds at a local shopping center when one of them recognized two women who had been banned from the mall a month earlier because of a shoplifting incident. The banning order was set for a period of one year. The suspects were escorted to the security officer, where the original banning order, signatures and photos of the two were located. Police were called, and the women were arrested. In addition, they are now banned from the mall for five years.

• Police were called to a Bull Street business after a woman’s ex-boyfriend arrived to retrieve a set of house keys and other items, then became angry. At first, the man refused to talk to the woman, then left. After his departure, he began banging on the front door. The man became increasingly upset and continued to knock, but the woman refused him entry. In response, the man got into her car and ripped out the stereo and broke the dash.

•After receiving a report of shots fired at a White Bluff Avenue apartment complex, police responded, but found no one in the lobby. The woman who made the complaint said she heard loud bangs. Her husband said the noises sounded like a gun being fired next door.
