Shooting on Skidaway

Detectives are investigating the shooting of a Savannah man on Skidaway Road Tuesday evening. Gerald Williams, 30, was transported to Memorial University Medical Center with critical injuries after the 6:24 p.m. shooting neat East 51st Street.

The shooting followed an altercation with another man. Investigators continue to look into the details.

"A great deal of vehicular traffic was in the area at the time," police say. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637). Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward. A confidential Tip Line also is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124.
