Posted By on Sat, Mar 14, 2015 at 10:52 PM

Detectives are investigating the shooting of a man in East Savannah Saturday afternoon.

Sandy Gould, 36, "was transported to a hospital for treatment by a civilian after the 4:43 p.m. shooting near Deiter and East 31st streets," a police spokesman says. He was being treated for a non-life threatening wound.

Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police were told "he was shot during a disagreement."

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crimestoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

A Tip Line also is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124 and most area clergy have agreed to serve as liaisons for anyone who would like to share information with police anonymously.

When I took this job four years ago, one of my first tasks was to cover the last election, and I don’t remember wanting to hide under my desk until it was over. Back then, the candidates’ blustering antics seemed baffling but not without certain charms; the disconnection we’re seeing now is trending towards the sociopathic.
