Detectives are investigating the shooting of a Savannah man last Tuesday morning, "possibly by occupants of a car reported stolen less than two hours earlier," police say.
Jimmy Burns, 27, of an East 40th Street address, was treated for non-life threatening wounds after the 12:53 a.m. shooting on the 1100 block of East 38th Street.
"He had been standing in front of a house when a white Honda sedan drove by, then returned," police say. "Occupants of the Honda then began firing at him."
A car matching that description was reported stolen from the 200 block of Hampstead Avenue about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.
