14-year-old apparently killed while 'playing with a firearm'

The Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Department Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a male teen at approximately 4:30 p.m., April 7, at a residence in the 1300 block of East 69th Street.

"Jajuan McDowell, 14, suffered a fatal gunshot wound at the residence and was transported to Memorial University Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
McDowell and a second teen were reportedly playing with a firearm at the time of the shooting," police say.
