Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crimes detectives are investigating a shooting that reportedly occurred on the 300 block of East 54th Street just before 11 p.m. on April 26.

Investigators responded to Memorial University Medical Center after Gregory Jones, 32, arrived seeking treatment of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

"Police are working to determine the exact location of the shooting. Events resulting in this shooting and the identities of any suspects also remain under investigation. Investigators do not believe this to be a random act," says Eunicia Baker of the SCMPD Public Affairs Office.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (912) 234-2020 or text CRIMES (274637) using the keyword CSTOP2020. Tipsters remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.

A tip line also is open directly to investigators at (912) 525-3124.
