Information sought in Wolf Lane shooting

SAVANNAH, GA (June 28, 2016): Savannah-Chatham Metropolitan Police Department's Robbery Unit is investigating a shooting and reported robbery in the 1000 block of Wolf Lane, at about 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28.

Investigators responded to Memorial University Medical Center just before noon, where Pierre Byrd, 17, arrived in a privately owned vehicle, seeking care of a non-life threatening gunshot wound.

Byrd was reportedly shot during a physical altercation that ensued after an alleged armed robbery. Investigators do not believe Byrd was randomly targeted. This incident remains under investigation.
