Lecture: Urban Agriculture

Dr. Dickson Despommier, a professor in the Department of Environmental Health Sciences at Columbia University, will deliver a lecture about urban agriculture and vertical farming, an innovative technology designed to move agricultural production within densely-populated cities. Vertical farming allows for the mass production of crops in a relatively small footprint, vastly decreasing food spoilage associated with transport and reducing the ecological strain on water and soil resources.
