Harry Delorme, Jr. will talk on Southern self-taught artists in conjunction with the new exhibition on William O. Golding. Delorme will discuss how artists with no professional training developed inventive working methods and imagery that connect to their lived experience and beliefs, as well as to history and social issues. In addition to Olding, he will reference other Southern artists represented in Telfair museums' collection, among them Thornton Dial, Robert Walker, Bessie Harvey, Nellie Mae Rowe, JLee Sudduth, and Captain William Jordan.
