Peach State music lovers are in for a treat as a concert event featuring local musicians performing songs by reknowned Georgia artists is set to take place at Victory North on Saturday, Jan. 21. The showcase, aptly named “Georgia on My Mind,” will bring together a diverse group of talented musicians from across the region to pay tribute to some of Georgia’s most iconic recording artists, all while raising funds for Emmaus House, a local organization whose mission is to feed the hungry.

The line-up for the evening includes a mix of established and up-and-coming local artists, with performances ranging from R&B to country and everything in between that might appear on Georgia’s diverse musical timeline.

This one-of-a-kind concert will feature the familiar music of Georgia recording artists such as Otis Redding, Ray Charles, REM, James Brown, Gram Parsons, The Allman Brothers Band, Johnny Mercer, Jerry Reed, TLC, The Black Crowes, Gladys Knight, and more.

Notable local performances include Anders Thomsen, Dolette McDonald, Trae Gurley, Charles Maring, Josh Johansson, Aaron Zimmer, Laiken Williams, Susanna Kennedy, Patrick Ellington, Basik Lee, Eric Britt, Gracynn Britt, Stan Ray, Andrew Sovine, Jared Hall and Ryan Kelly.

Organizing a musical tribute that benefits the community is part of being a passionate performer, explained Eric Britt, who is one of the locals heading up the showcase.
