THE New York City-based Desdemona Piano Quartet offers two concerts for Savannahians this weekend.
There’s a familiar face up there—violinist Adrianne Munden-Dixon is a current member of the Savannah Philharmonic. The Larchmont Music Academy faculty member enjoys playing anywhere from cafes to Carnegie Hall.
Margarita Rovenskaya performs on piano and has played all around the world with recitals in Weill Recital Hall in Carnegie Hall and Steinway Hall. She’s won the Mary Smart International Concerto Competition, Westminster Piano Concerto Competition, and Connecticut Young Artist Competition.
Violist Carrie Frey is a regular performer with New York’s Petros Klampanis Group and Wet Ink Large Ensemble. She has performed in Switzerland, Japan, and more as an orchestra member.
Cellist Julia Henderson performs with a variety musicians as a freelancer and teacher. Her gigs have taken her to The John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, Montserrat Music Festival in the Caribbean, and festivals in Colorado, Wisconsin, and beyond.
The ensemble, known for creating unique performances for a variety of concertgoers, will play selections from the Classical to Contemporary periods, including works by Haydn, Kodaly, Clara Schumann, Brustad, and Brahms.
