Re: “Then he threw the gun?!

Where is the follow up to the Christopher Mayville story? You know, the guy that shot himself to death and then threw the gun into the bushes when he finished. These stories are posted and never followed up by any media and this one is really suspicious.

Re: “Pot and coke and an assault rifle, oh my

"Assault Rifle". Ugh. Here we go AGAIN.

The definition of an "Assault Rifle" is a shoulder fired weapon which fires an intermediate round and is capable of burst or full automatic fire.

The SKS is a CARBINE. It does not and never has had the capability of firing in either burst fire or full automatic fire.

Please STOP the fear mongering.

Thank you.

Re: “Weed & crack

Not that any of these crimes should be validated, but convicted criminals often go right back to crime because they don't know any other way to live. Having a felony on one's record makes it difficult to get hired at a legitimate job, even if the criminal wanted to turn his/her life around. It has been suggested that the prison system should include better reform skill programs such as job training, and social workers should help find work for ex-prisoners, such as the work they do while in prison (cleaning streets, etc.)

this link says there are incentives for hiring ex-offenders.

Re: “Weed & crack

The recent decision is that state trumping federal law not recognizing same-sex marriage in the National Guard means that state medical marijuana law now trumps federal marijuana laws.

Re: “Weed & crack

Surprise, medical marijuana just became legal in the State of Georgia. Georgia had been saying that federal laws against marijuana trumped state laws, but this recent decision by Georgia says otherwise. In view of how other states' marijuana laws have stood up against federal law, medical marijuana is now legal in Georgia since federal law does not trump state law. Georgia can not have it both ways.

Re: “Goodbye to Binky

Condolences to the Savannah Police Dept. and The K9 handler of Binky . While he demonstrated his ability to give everything he had to give to the citizens of Savannah and without anyone ever questioning his loyalty, courage or willingness to demonstrate his overall training, may he forever rest in peace knowing he left nothing on the field. He gave it all for every call for service ! Farewell " Binky " . RIP

Re: “Wreck claims star EMS dispatcher

Put your PROOF that anybody drove around a crossing gate or remove statement. Railroads hear say BS to cops not counted as proof. Proof would be the train video before it went to dub studio ---local video because the railroads and their fed/state/county/ city hoes can hide RR crossing signal failure without video...the crossing signal black box in signal house---the train black box---the real McCoys.

Re: “Caught with their pants down

WTF? What the hell is wrong with our police department when they feel like they have to arrest a young couple for "public indecency" when they are fooling around in a private car in a remote parking lot! In Georgia, you can have a gun in your glove box and and defend your car as if it was your home, all without needing any papers for that gun! But I guess a little "hanky panky" is just to much! The police are in that parking lot because that has been the location of a "glory hole" in the mens bathroom. I have used that boat launch for years and did feel the frustrations of so many gay men hitting on me as I tried to load my boat. But the police response has been to hold sting operations where a "strait" cop acts as gay bait, so to get a "gay" man to fallow him in to the adjoining stall and stick his manhood through the hole so the cops can arrest him and give him a $1200. fine and say justice was done. I have a problem with the police coming down so hard on non-violent crimes and baiting people just to arrest them! But, what kind of good do we have when cops are arresting people for BJ's in there own car! WTF! do that to me and I will make sure the police has less funding and more hell to deal with!

"...bruising, but no contusions."? bruise is a synonym for contusion.

Re: “Brotherly Love

How many stories do we have to read about minor interpersonal conflicts being turned into serious problems courtesy of the presence of "peace officers." I guess they follow Chicago Mayor Daley's dictum that they are not there to create chaos, just to add to it.

If that woman who gave that guy her ATM card has any money left, I'll sell her the Talmadge Bridge. Cheap.

Re: “'I'll plead guilty to drunk in public'

Kudos to the man who had the presence of mind to set his home alarm system when he left the house -- and have the call forwarded to his cell phone! I know that a lot of home security companies like Monitronics (http://www.linkedin.com/companies/monitronics-international) are allowing homeowners to use their cell phones as the primary number instead of a landline.

Re: “The most elaborate lie ever just to get out of going to church

I love the story about the disorderly juvenile. Mom has a disagreement with her daughter, so instead of letting it cool off, or trying to talk it out with her, she calls the cops, and the whole thing escalates into a minor disaster. Good parenting Mom.
