Re: “Savannah Car Care Center (Victory Dr)

I identified several problems (a/c not working; passenger electric window not working) & asked for an estimate of repairs. The Manager said he could do it tomorrow morning. Never did he say there would be a charge to give me an estimate. I dropped the car off before hours, left the key. The Manager called me 2+ hours later, said the a/c compressor needed replacement + gas, so about $980. Oil change too. He said the driver's side window switch needed replacement but never gave me a price - never wrote anything on the estimate/bill form either. I said I needed to think about it as a thousand dollars is a lot to spend at one time, plus it's an old car (2003). He said just pay me the diagnostic fee of $49.95 & we'll be OK. I asked "what fee"? He said "we charge to give estimates". I said "you never told me that - if I had known that I would not have left the car". He said we always charge for the diagnostic, & the total is $55.30. I told him I'm coming over to get my car. When I arrived at the shop, there was a sign with a bunch of rules on it, with the last one at the bottom - very inconspicuously - stating "minimum diagnostic fee $49.95". Again, he never told me this, never pointed to the sign & said that was our fee, I never verbally authorized the fee, & I never signed anything authorizing the fee. In addition, he automatically added a "shop supply fee" of $5.00 plus tax of $0.35 to the diagnostic fee, thus the "Minimum diagnostic fee" is NOT $49.95 but $55.30! He disparaged me several times as I'm living in California & we're terrible people. He threatened to place a lien on my car. I then said that since this fee - per their terms - could be applied again the services recommended, that I would get the oil changed. He said that that was not possible now since I had argued with him about the charge. I paid the bill & left.

Re: “JW Salon & Spa

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!! Save your money and your hair! Went in to see Madeline for partial highlights and a cut only to have my friends tell me it looked streaky and unblended. I had asked for a quote before going in and even double checked at the front desk before getting my hair done and ended up paying well over the amount that was originally quoted to me. When asked about the extra charges that I did not ask for they said that olaplex treatment is automatically charged for colored hair for $20, but lied and charged me $25 for not only the olaplex treatment but ALSO added another hair service which was never mentioned or asked for, for an additional $25. This added an extra $50 plus dollars for extra services that I was not even informed or asked for. I found the business and staff to be very dishonest seeming like they were more interested in taking advantage of their customers to make quick money.

DO NOT SHOP HERE ALONE IF YOU ARE A WOMAN! the manager is a complete creep and has been accused of assaulting shoppers. The company is taking no steps to correct the problem or protect their shoppers.

Re: “Hawg Scooters

If you like giving away $1423.40, then buy something from here. We bought our daughter a 4 wheeler for her birthday, because we want her to have the things we always wanted and didnt have growing up. The day we got it, we came home rode it for 20 minutes and it wouldnt crank again. We took it back to them because there was a 60 day warranty. They kept it for a week trying to repair it. Every time we got it back it would run for 10 minutes and the same thing would happen. They tried to repair it 4 or 5 times in the 60 days we had it. My daughter didnt get to ride it on her birthday, on Christmas, on New Years. We felt horrible that every time we would ask if she wanted to ride her four wheeler her face would light up, she would get her boots and helmet on, we would walk outside and it wouldnt start. Seeing her face broke our hearts. So we took the four wheeler back to them, and being told the last time by them to Give me one more chance to get it right. It wasnt right. Never ran right. They had multiple chances and we just had a bad taste in our mouths. When we dropped it off for the last time the owner wasnt there and wouldnt be back until after the New Year. We went out and spent $3000 on another four wheeler from someone else. Once the owner finally got in touch with us after 2 weeks his offer was to give us $1175. When we said No. How about $1400? He said he couldnt do that. We were willing to lose $23.40. Why did he offer any refund if he felt like what he did wasnt wrong?? The owner said he would sell it on consignment and we would get all our money back. We said No. We werent putting our name on a broken four wheeler that someone else would be screwed over with. We arent those people. So now, we have given them $1423.40, on top our all our time going back and fourth from their shop, the lost wages of work we had to miss, the gas, and our faith in business owners do the right thing. SHOP HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK OR IF YOU LIKE GIVING HARD EARNED MONEY AWAY!!!!

Re: “40 Volume Salon

DISHONEST SERVICE
1. What they told me over the phone about services and prices was completely different than what happened in person. Be sure to get what they tell you in writing via email.
2. I was told an updo was $55-65 and usually took an hour. I was also told I could have my hair washed and dried if I wanted. When I arrived, the hairdresser said she did not have time to wash my hair, dry it, and do an updo because it takes an additional hour to wash and dry my hair. In reality, it would take a maximum of 30 minutes.
3. The beautician said she could not do my hair if I wanted it washed. I was at her mercy since I had to be ready at a certain time for a wedding and am visiting from out of town. When she did my updo, she pinned the back up in several sections. She did absolutely nothing to the front and top until I mentioned it. Then, she used a pick to lift it. It took her 35 minutes to do the updo. It was THE WORST hair experience I have ever had in over 40 years. I am certain my 15 year old would have done a better job.
4. When I went to the counter to pay, they charged me $75.00!!!!!! I tried to calmly dispute the charge but they would not budge and I did not have the time or energy to stand my ground as I needed to focus on the wedding of my best friends daughter.
The ONLY positive thing that happened at this place was getting a free glass of cheap wine.
I would HIGHLY recommend using another salon!

Re: “Orchid Nail Spa

I love this salon and have been going there for 1 1/2 years. The owners, Dang and Kevin are very personbale. I have had Christina also to do my nails and they all do an awesome job. If you need a pedicure or waxing they do that too. I highly recommend them.

Re: “Backus Children's Hospital

From the time I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 8 years old, I went through many endocrinologists that had different approaches at informing me of how to manage my diabetes. I learned many things through the years.
I would like to point out that Nurse Wendy changed my life. She was by my side to do anything possible to keep me alive. If she is still there, I would love to speak with her if possible. Yesterday marked my 15 years with the disease and so would like to thank her. My name is Cassandra Yardman. diabeticcassie44@yahoo.com

Re: “Books on Bay Bookstore

A valuable resource for the experienced and novice series book collector alike. A visit to Books on Bay is like taking a trip back to your childhood and the books you read and loved. Owner Betsy Hoit-Thetford is as much a treasure as the books the store stocks. Well versed in the many series available and always sharing her vast knowledge. My visit was cut short by approaching hurricane Mathew, but I cannot wait to return.

Re: “City of Savannah Water Services

I am extremely frustrated by the city of savannah water utility. I came home yesterday to find my water shut off. Called utility company at 912-651-6460 and they informed me our bill had been paid and they would send a technician to check, that was Friday evening, Sept 29, 2017. No technician, no water. Called today 651-4241, Saturday morning for water emergency and was told a technician would be sent out today, Sept 30, 2017. No technician, no water. Called the same number back and the ext. 1 "water emergency" line is not available. I have to go down the road to use the restroom. This is unacceptable service.
