Savannah Police Violent Crimes detectives are investigating an early morning double shooting resulting in one fatality.
"Around 1:20 a.m., officers heard gunfire in the area of Avery Street and Oglethorpe Avenue and quickly responded to the scene finding Charles Daniels, 40, with gunshot wounds. Daniels was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries," police report.
While responding to the scene, "officers located a second victim, Warnie Bonaparte, 31, in a vehicle with non-life threatening injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for further treatment."
