Best Local Concert

Savannah Stopover

The tenth anniversary of the Savannah Stopover Music Festival took the Best Local Concert category after a smashing line-up over the second weekend of March (as it is every year!).

Savannah’s location makes it the perfect site for traveling musicians to play while on their way to the Austin, Texas SXSW Music Conference – earning the Stopover Music Festival the moniker of “SXSW’s grungy little sister.” The extensive line-up and intimate settings aim to not just connect fans with their favorite bands, but to also find new favorites.

The 2020 weekend featured acts like Shovels & Rope, Motherfolk, The Districts and Tall Tall Trees. Local acts like Clouds & Satellites, Donna Savage, Dustin Price, Early Branch, McLeod, Bero Bero, Damon and the Shitkickers and Reverend Bro Diddley and the Hips also made appearances.

Along with the musical acts themselves, the background of the historic city also takes a starring role. Shows are hosted at venues across the city including Service Brewing Co., The Jinx, El Rocko Lounge, Congress Street Social Club, Club One, Trinity United Methodist Church and The Wayward Bar (Perry Lane Hotel). Connect Savannah’s stage was at the Ships of the Sea Museum.

Passes are affordable (with one-day, three-day and VIP pass options) and all venues are within an easy walk from each other.
