‘In the Mix Act III’ - A collaborative graffiti performance celebrating the art of street culture. Five graffiti artists paint live on five individual panels. After 20 minutes they switch and use the previous artists design for inspiration. The public is encouraged to participate in the collaborative painting of a cinder block wall set up for the entire evening. Throughout the evening there will be live hip-hop DJ’s, MC’s and Break Dancing, courtesy of Dope Sandwich Productions. ‘Reintroducing Rembrandt’ -- In conjunction with the Rembrandt exhibition on display at Red Gallery, Gary Schwartz, the world’s leading Rembrandt expert, will be presenting a lecture titled “Reintroducing Rembrandt,” Sept. 21, 7:30 p.m., at the Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. The lecture is free and open to the public and Schwartz will be available to sign copies of “The Rembrandt Book” after the lecture.

‘Aftermath’ -- Edna Dapo’s SCAD MFA solo thesis exhibition of paintings, drawings and prints, centers on people’s experiences and their immediate surroundings after tragedy. New Savannah Art Association Gallery -- The Savannah Art Association opens its new gallery space Sept. 14 in the Board Room of the Senior Citizens Building, 3025 Bull St. The Savannah Art Association was founded in 1920 and is the oldest art association in Georgia.

‘Noteworthy Art’ -- Savannah Folk Music Society exhibit and auction features 14 unique guitars to be exhibited the month of September 2006 at the Lobby Gallery in City Market. These one-of-a-kind works of art will be auctioned at the midpoint of the Folkfest in City Market, 8:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13 and the midpoint of the concert at the Roundhouse, about 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 15. Artists participating this year are: Richard Adams, Lawrence Carson, Zola Delburn, Harry DeLorme, Sharon Dobbs, Barbara Gentry, Rachel Green, Betsy Haun, Ching Levy, Sharon McIntosh, Chris Roberts, Andrea Strak, Albert Seidl and Deborah Stewart.
