‘Student Impressions: Works on Paper from the Printmaking Program at the Savannah College of Art and Design’ -- Printmaking work by undergraduate and graduate students Oct. 5--Nov. 5, at the May Poetter Gallery, 342 Bull St. Free and open to the public.



Alvida’s Fall Show -- Local artist Luther Vann is showcased as well as new works by Alvida artists Theresa McGraw, Ruth Hunter, Jeff Zeigler, Ken Myer Jr., Kirt Witte, Anne El-Habre, and Judith Metzger. The gallery also welcomes new Savannah potter, Sally Fox. Reception begins at 7 p.m. Sat., Oct. 23, with live music starting at 8 p.m.

‘Laura Lee Rose: Memorials’ -- SCAD presents this mixed-media exhibition of large-scale works centered on a family’s battle with cancer, through Oct. 23, at La Galerie Bleue, Montgomery Hall, 3515 Montgomery St.



‘Prime Time’ -- Photography by Phoenix Lindsey-Hall questions American culture by capturing stills from television. Opening reception is Oct. 7, 6-10 p.m.; show runs until Oct. 13 at Desoto Row Gallery, 2427 Desoto Ave.



‘Configurations’ -- Working Class Studio at 237 Boundary St. under the bridge, presents this exhibition by MFA fibers candidate Morena Guzman. Oct. 4-8.



J.J. Sedelmaier -- SCAD presents a lecture by this animation director whose studio was involved in “Beavis & Butthead” and SNL’s “TV Funhouse.” Thursday, Oct. 7, 7 p.m., at Trustees Theater, 216 E. Broughton St. Free and open to the public.



‘By Hand -- African American Advertising Art in Savannah’ -- This exhibition at the King Tisdell Cottage, 502 E. Harris St.

features images made by local African American sign painters.



‘Helen Slater as Supergirl’ -- Exhibition by SCAD professor of painting Craig Drennen using the theme of 1984’s Supergirl and its star Helen Slater to address the relationship between film and the traditional fine arts. Sept. 29-Oct. 26, at Pinnacle Gallery, 320 E. Liberty St. A closing reception will be held as part of the Savannah Film Festival, Tuesday, Oct. 26, 9-11 p.m. Free.



‘Multi-dimensional Landscapes’ -- Black & white photos by Joe Dyer on display through Nov. 13 at Venus de Milo, 38 MLK Jr. Blvd.



‘From Apache to Zuni’ -- The Telfair Museum of Art hosts this exhibit of Native American objects from the Lowe Museum from Sept. 25-Jan. 2. Several events and lectures dealing with the exhibit will be held throughout October.



Gallery 209 -- Stained glass artist Mary Ingalls and painter Jean Jones are featured artists for October at Gallery 209, 209 E. River St.



‘Tool Set: Post/American Reality’ -- SCAD presents this exhibit Sept. 26-Oct. 30, at Orleans Hall Gallery, 201 Barnard St. Free and open to the public. “Tool Set” is a moving image exhibition exploring American reality through video and audio postproduction software.
