Pre Statts Fest @The Jinx

FRIENDS OF STATTS is knockin’ it outta the park this year. The annual fundraiser for local musician and artist Jason Statts has consistently taken place at The Jinx (exception being 2013’s all-ages bash at Muse Arts Warehouse); this year, the official, full-proper celebration is at Grayson Stadium on September 17. With food trucks, a silent auction, and activities for the kids, the musical entertainment leans more toward the Americana/country side with headliners The Train Wrecks and City Hotel. Get ready for the official festivities and double the donations at The Jinx’s heavy pre-party this weekend.

The Black Tusk boys are back from their first time in Australia and New Zealand, and any chance to see them tear up the home stage is always welcome.

Bear Fight, Hotplate, and Lies in Stone round out the bill. The latter, fronted by Victoria Scalisi of the legendary Damad with Scott Cooper (also of Damad), Burke Stewart, Ben Maher of Dead Yet?, made its debut opening for Black Tusk back in May.

For a small fee, attendees can get a bottomless cup of on-tap PBR. Drink up: all proceeds from the beer (and the cover charge) go to Friends of Statts and assist Jason Statts with medical and living expenses. Stay tuned for more information about Statts Fest on September 17.
