Re: “See ya ‘round, Savannah

Thank you Jessica for documenting our local civil ( and sometimes not so) society so eloquently over the past few years, and good luck!

Re: “Editor's Note: Too little, too late on hotel development?

Jim, Thank you for your summation of last Thursdays city council meeting ,but if you dig much deeper than what met the eye ,and what was so painful to the ear, re: the West Elm petition ,...and then recounting the gyrating council banter, and susequent decision, you'll likely amen your conclusion, and agree that there were two ways about it and the people lost big in this round.
All voices should be heard ,regardless of opinion,,and with no public comment allowed as was witnessed on Thursday, I would like to throw out an idea for another opportunity to for anyone who wants to meet-up and speak on this issue .Any ideas? Thanks Again

Re: “Year in Review: The music scene

Thank YOU Anna, (you left out Coeds) we needed a reminder and a benchmark to see how we've really progressed exponentially! Next stop is not the twilight zone, as we've already been there...but ALL AGES is the next sign-post up ahead! Thanks Again!

  • Editor's Note: The best blight money can buy

As the City continues to get deeper into the real estate and landlord business—some would say slumlord is a more accurate term—blight continues unabated throughout the already-established neighborhoods of Savannah.

  • Editor's Note: The real crime is our poverty rate

The City of Savannah still remains at a stubborn 26-28 percent poverty rate. Poverty disproportionately impacts African Americans, also the community most disproportionately impacted by crime. This is no coincidence and is hardly rocket science, but for some reason many people have problems connecting the dots.
