I am extremely surprised that there isn't more negative reviews on here due to the fact that this restaurant clearly gets very little business compared to what it used to get as "Island Grille". The owner most definitely doesn't not how how to conduct himself as a business manager.
I have heard nothing but bad experiences from several people that have been here:
Horrible set up, Food being overpriced and not very good, small portions, slow staff and not very friendly, alcoholic beverages overpriced and watered down and most of all from several people, surprisingly said they have got screwed on their bar tabs as if the waitress's are TOLD to rape drinking customers to help make up for a sorry ran business.
I prefer to give places and people the benefit of the doubt. We also knew a great band would be there we decided to check this place out strictly for the soul reason.
That place used to get "packed out" on the weekends and we pulled up around 10:30 on. Saturday night to a DEAD parking lot. Inside was 2 people at the bar, 2 couples eating at the booths and 4 people watching the band. NONE of us were ID'ed. We had a group of 10 with us, sat at a big table over where you can actually SEE the band.
Several of us had to search out the waitress several times because clearly they were so packed (sarcasm) she couldn't make it back to the table for new beverages. I myself went up to the bar a couple times for mine. The $2.50 large Tap Ultra beers were very watered down, way beyond normal. My girlfriend was triple charged on her bar tab and to make things worse the owner wanted to argue with her about it and go to the extent of cussing at her and threatening to call the cops and have her pulled over for DUI (although she wasn't driving) and if she had been, HIS staff was the ones who would have over served her. Then the OWNER (whom clearing does NOT know how to conduct himself as a business manager) acts like he wants to fight one of our guy friends in the group because our guy friend was trying to explain he seen our girlfriend already pay her tab and he was trying to explain that to the waitress.
This was definitely the craziest experience I have had with a owner / manager etc. I was completely shocked by his behavior and also disappointed that he stooped to that level when he needs to be building a business up and not making it worse then it already is. I will most definitely be warning everyone NOT to support this behavior / restaurant!!!!! I don't foresee him making it there at all and won't be surprised when it closes down in the very near future.
