What cures homelessness? Homes. The #1 cause of homelessness especially in Savannah is lack of affordable housing. Housing First has made incredible headway across America in addressing chronic homelessness in cities and other communities willing to adopt it and be supported by all parties -- the community, business, and local government. The board of the Chatham-Savannah Authority for the Homeless has adopted Housing First. Now all those who live and work and own businesses here need to step up to the plate, and particularly our city and county governments.
