I am a pedestrian and cyclist in the Southside. I have given up on CAT as it has given up on its core users of Abercorn(people who need the bus to get to and from work) in favor of tourists in the Southside. Still no covered benches for bus stops after 15 years of promising them. Enjoy the money you got with that bonus last year instead of providing the simple civil service for folks who would like to not have to stand in hot sun, pouring rain, and cold temps, you damn jerks.

Ooo, we did get that one trail from that dealership to the parking lot of that gas station that is next to Food Lion on White Bluff. Yay. Really? I have to see a dozen unfinished sidewalks all over the southside and this is the one victory? I am pissed off at myself for yaying that damn thing.

It is still quite hard to try to cross the road as a pedestrian at too many crosswalks. You have to cross a busy road that has no button for pedestrians to ensure our safety in crossing. But there is a slick button on the other side of that road to cross Abercorn. This is ridiculous.

Please someone start a campaign for the stopped-short sidewalks and crap-tastic bus stops in the south of Savannah. I beg for some blind person to come here and try to navigate the southside. Maybe then we would have some changes for the better.

I do not own a car. I travel by foot or bicycle, as public transport in Savannah sucks. I do not steal shopping carts. They are not mine to use as I see fit; they belong to the grocery store and huzzah to Publix next to Derenne for employing the technology to prevent the theft of their carts.

I am upset with folks I see using store's carts as their own. 20 bucks is the cost of an item similar to a grocery cart and found at Kmart, Walmart or Target.

So, I walk a lot and see homeless carts all of the time. I do not begrudge the folks that use some carts as benches at bus stops. Seriously, when will CAT fulfill its promise to have covered benches at every stop? It has been fifteen years!

Stores need to collect their errant carts. I have a lovely ditch that supports a lot of wildlife (cranes, turtles, fish, etc) and it pisses me off to see so much trash and shopping carts dumped in it.
