ALWAYS a treat to see Savannah’s Bear Fight! in action; band members Matt Collett and Colin Motlagh have been busy opening up their recording studio/practice space/music mecca, The Garage, but they’re taking a break from booking bands and tracking guitars to unleash their heavy Southern rock onto The Jinx with three killer Atlanta bands.
Brother Hawk dips into beefy classic Southern rock progressions, infused with an indie-fied swing and the incredible range of guitarist-vocalist J.B. Brisendine. It’s unfiltered, unpretentious rock ‘n’ roll, sweltering in blues twang and riding high on stadium-ready guitar licks.
StoneRider recalls the golden age of ‘70s rock ‘n’ roll with keys, big vocals, and super-fun hooks. Just the right amount of sleaze, cranked amps, and big cymbals to make you shake it.
Three-piece Big Jesus blend proggy influences, wide-gaited progressions, spacey feedback and smoothly soaring vocals to make their melodic, heavy-ended rock.
