• An officer was working off-duty at a West Broughton Street bar when the bar owner brought a woman in the bar to the officer’s attention. In her purse in plain view was a clear plastic baggie of marijuana. She was placed under arrest for possession. Signs are posted in the bar stating clearly that drugs are not allowed. Persons must consent to be searched for drugs to gain entry to the bar.

• A Habersham Street woman reported attempted identity theft after a credit card company notified her that a man had attempted to open a credit card account using her personal information. The woman believes the suspect is her sister’s boyfriend. She was given a case report number.

• A man was detained by employees of an East Gwinnett Street grocery after he left the store with six bottles of adult and infant allergy medicine without paying for them. The medications were inside a store bag, but the man did not have a receipt and had not paid for them. He was taken back to the store and police were called.

• Officers were called to West 44th Street to offer assistance to emergency medical personnel who were trying to revive a man while containing an aggressive dog. The dog had already bitten the fallen man, charged at the EMS personnel and had attempted to bite a neighbor. The man was extricated successfully and taken to the hospital. No harm was done to the dog.
