If I could describe the way I feel coming to work at Connect Savannah every day, I’d only use one word: excited.
I’m excited by fun, and this job is fun for obvious reasons.
We’re an arts and entertainment publication. What’s not fun about art exhibits, live music and new restaurants?
I’m also excited by change. This is truly one of those “different every day” kind of jobs. One day I’m writing a story about a local chef or planning a rock concert, and the next I’m helping a new business with an advertising plan or jumping on trampolines for a photo shoot. It’s random in a good way, and it keeps me on my toes.
But the thing I’m most excited about every day is meeting new, awesome people in our community. Savannah isn’t the largest city in the country, but I truly believe it’s one of the brightest and one of the boldest.
Every single day I am surrounded by people who are much smarter, much more creative, and much more talented than I am. I get to not only witness them in their groove, but I also get to lift them up and share their ideas with the rest of the City. It’s inspiring and incredibly humbling.
The community is what drives our publication, on both the editorial side and the sales side. Without Savannahians in all different fields following their dreams and their passions, we’d have nothing to write about and nothing to advertise. I know Connect Savannah will never run out of marvelous people to partner with.
So, thank you artists, business owners, musicians, bartenders, community activists, creators and risk-takers of Savannah. Because of you, I’m excited to get to work every day.
