Here's what's going on today (Friday, Feb. 1): This week's Connect cover subject, electronic musician Onyx Ashanti, performs at the Jepson Center at 6 p.m. The free exhibition is part of the ongoing PULSE Art + Technology Festival. This first day of February also brings a Seersucker Shots poetry event (at the Book Lady), a production of Willy Wonka at the Savannah Children's Theatre, a performance by the Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Emsemble at the Johnny Mercer Theatre, the First Friday Art March (starting at the south end of Forsyth Park), the Savannah Folk Music Society's First Friday concert (at First Presbyterian Church), and the Savannah Philharmonic's "Night in Vienna" concert at the Trustees Theater. Graveface Records celebrates its new second location (Civvies on Broughton) with a 6 p.m. (start time) show from Dreamend, Marshmallow Ghosts and others). The Jinx has Colossus and Savagist; Chinese Firedrill plays Wild Wing CafÉ.
