Ashantilly Center in Darien, GA presents Gracie Lewis Chandler. Inspired by a diary kept by her 7th generation grandfather on Sapelo Island, African slave Bilali, Mrs. Chandler will speak about her award-winning book Free to Be: A Novel the fictional account of Civil War slaves on a South Carolina island plantation.
