Per Kevin Lawver, the climate of Savannah Politics has gone from cute to scary. A perfect example is the proposed Arena (http://www.savannahga.gov/index.aspx?NID=1369). It is painfully obvious that Savannah doesn’t need an arena. The city can’t sell out the shows it has. Acts don’t want to make an additional stop between Jacksonville, Atlanta and Raleigh. Furthermore the advisory committee assembled to assess the need for an arena was painfully biased. Thematically this carries across most City Council related work. The result is a government that as completely incapable of making decisions that truly benefit the City. Rather, energy and investment is made in good-ol-boy buddies and cronies. It’s gross.
