With a name like Lee Bains II & the Glory Fires, it’d be fair to expect something pretty distinctly Southern. The Birmingham, Alabama-based band’s music is definitely that in part, but it leans more heavily on bands like Husker Du than it does on traditional southern rock. Their edgy and raw brand of rock has landed them on respected labels like Sub Pop Records, and they’ve made quite a name for themselves over the past several years.
