Re: “Review: Jack Ryan, Shadow Recruit

I thought it was a great ride for a Friday or Saturday night; perfect chance to check expectations at the door , strap in for some vicarious thrills and "get a little action in"....do you think some movie goers and critics might have set their expectations a wee bit high for just a nights worth of entertainment?
Did you notice though how , not once does any one say during the film: " follow the money"? And yet that's exactly how it goes?
To beg to differ, I thought it was just riveting.
Perhaps you and others did not linger long enough on the parts about America having a second great Depression.
Maybe you did not thrill to Ryans attempts to rescue his girl, when was the last time we have even seen such steely determination? Yes I'm waiting!
But no, it gets a fail because : its not just mind-blowingly spectacular enough.
But just btw,: why are so many film critics constantly begging their readers to make illicit comparisons to films of both different genre and for that matter : calibre? Frankly I am fed up and sick of it!
I challenge every single film reviewer out there to drop the measuring stick to other films as a basis for granting a film a pass or fail. Challenge your self to sit through a film without wishing it was more like ones you may have already seen before. This should be a movie to love for every one of our inner geeks, inner nerds, inner accountant-,..whatever name that fits-,....and just cheer another underdog on.
In the age of over the top superheroes from Iron Man to suped-up SuperDuperMen.....Jack Ryan's ticking brain has to be the sexiest sizzlingest sound out there and frankly I wish more reviewers would just stop and think about the every man inside of us instead of expecting every action film to be a testosterone laden pressure cooker....thats why I loved this film and Jack Ryan....it broke a mold without missing a beat. https://www.facebook.com/notes/max-stelmacker/jack-ryan-shadow-recruit-film-review/10152151516228485
