Vendors on Victory is a new addition to Savannah’s shopping scene. Located at the intersection of Skidaway and Victory, the coastal lifestyle marketplace boasts more than 50 vendors offering artwork, antiques, home decor, clothing and more.
Claudia and David Burchstead are the founders of Vendors on Victory, which is a part of the Victory Drive business corridor revitalization effort. Their goals are to be a business incubator that gives local entrepreneurs a place to grow and thrive, to give back and support community nonprofits and to provide a legacy to their children. So far, the Burchsteads’ business has enjoyed a warm reception.
“We are thankful to the community for supporting this new marketplace, home for more than 50 local artists, makers, antique dealers and lifestyle vendors. We sold out of booth space within the first 10 days,” Claudia Burchstead remarked.
On Thursday, March 2 at 5:30 p.m., Vendors on Victory will host their official grand opening, complete with live music, gourmet appetizers from local chefs and door prizes from local vendors. Mayor Van Johnson will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony along with other community and business leaders. Local Gullah Geechee storyteller Patt Gunn will perform a special Gullah Geechee Blessing. Gunn is also a vendor at the marketplace, selling traditional cultural crafts.
The Burchsteads invite the public to come out and attend the grand opening and to shop the market for unique coastal finds.
