Pilgrimage to Our Sacred Places: Commemorating the Civil Rights Movement

Uploaded by fauxbo
Dr. Doretha Walker will lecture on moving from being a beneficiary of the civil rights movement to becoming an organizer of a grassroots movement that commemorates some of the sacred places of the Civil Rights era. Dr. Walker founded the Civil Rights Race Series with the goal of helping participants revisit the history of Bloody Sunday and the struggle for Voting Rights, and to highlight the need to bring people to “sacred spaces” in African-American history.
