Pumping up the volume at a new Savannah site

40 Volume Salon & Spa announces grand opening of new location

Michelle Rouzer

ONE OF SAVANNAH'S top full-service salons, 40 Volume Salon & Spa, is expanding with a new location at 816 E. 71st St. in Savannah.

Previously located on Waters Ave., this is the third expansion for the salon and spa that was crowned as Connect Savannah’s 2020 Best Hair Salon for the third year in a row.

“Savannah has been my home for 23 years, so to be experiencing the salon’s third expansion is a dream come true,” said 40 Volume Salon & Spa owner Michelle Rouzer.

Rouzer, a mother of two young boys, first opened her salon in 2008 with just two other stylists. She expanded five years later in 2013 and again in 2019 when she went from a staff of 14 to 28 in just one month.

“In addition to a larger space to better accommodate the salon’s growing client list, this expansion also includes growing my staff by half-a-dozen for a total of 34,” said Rouzer.

Rouzer has a particular connection to the Savannah and Ft. Stewart/Hunter Army Airfield community as an Army wife to Lt. Col. Charlie Rouzer. As a certified hairstylist of 16 years, with 14 of those years working as an educator of advanced haircutting, Rouzer is able to perform and oversee a number of professional salon and spa services which include haircuts, chemical services, smoothing treatments, lashes, facial waxing and more.

To celebrate the salon’s expansion and new location, Rouzer is hosting a grand opening event on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m., which is free and open to the public.
