Riding to Victory

Second annual moto event held over Veteran’s Day weekend

WHETHER you’re a motorcycle rebuilder, rider, or just a fan, the Victory Moto Show is sure to please.

Now in its second year, the exhibition of over 30 vintage bikes goes down this weekend at Service Brewing.

Its founder, Anna Heritage, knew that our community needed an event like this.

“It’s something that came out of, ‘Hey, there’s nothing like this in Savannah,’” says Heritage. “I have to travel and go out of town to go to something like this. And Savannah is such a cool and really open-hearted motor culture and community. Everyone’s super sweet, a really great group of people—guys and girls I’ve grown up with.”

Heritage started riding in high school as a way to bond with her family.

“My great-grandfather rode motorcycles, and my dad is a really talented builder as a hobby, but he could open his own shop if he wanted,” Heritage shares. “My uncle used to race motorcycles. It’s just kind of this family thing that really brought me closer to my dad and to my uncle. In a really beautiful way, riding helped change our relationship.”

The Victory Moto Show will be held Nov. 10 at Service Brewing. Attendees get to check out custom and vintage motorcycles and a photography exhibition. There will be a silent auction to benefit the Warrior Ride, a veteran nonprofit that uses adaptive cycling to rehabilitate veterans. Food will be provided by Big Bon Pizza.

Service Brewing collaborated with Two Tides Brewing Company, Revelry Brewing, and Orpheus Brewing to create three beers inspired by motorcycles.

On Sunday, the fun continues with a Janus Motorcycles Discovery Day at the Alida Hotel. The event includes brunch, a design and production presentation, and test rides.

“[Janus] makes beautiful motorcycles in Goshen, Indiana, and they’re road-tripping down from Indiana to do a special ride,” Heritage says.

The significance of the Victory Moto Show being held on Veterans Day weekend is no coincidence.

“This ties in really strongly—my great-grandfather and both of my parents are veterans,” Heritage notes. “The fact that this is in the Service Brewing space and on Veterans Day weekend is super special. That’s why we chose a veteran nonprofit, the Warrior Ride. That element of paying respect to people who have given so much for us and how we can get those good vibes out there to help others.”
