A sheltered young man with an unusual heart condition meets the woman of his dreams, an ex-hooker and recovering drug addict with a handicapped 16-year-old son. He pretends to be in recovery himself, just to get closer to her. His family is aghast, but he must face his own demons and learn to live without fear.
