School’s Out Series: Barrier Island Exploration

Join us for an excursion to Wassaw National Wildlife Refuge and spend the day on one of Georgia’s undeveloped barrier islands. The trip will entail exploring the North end of Wassaw Island with marine educators. We’ll anchor the skiffs along the shoreline, hike along the northern part of the island looking for seashells before sampling the surf for cool marine animals using a seine net. Children ages 10 or older are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. All boat activities are weather-dependent and require appropriate and adequate footwear and clothing.
